22 February 2014 ~ Question of the Day ~ Bikes or a Motorcycle

Do you ride bikes anywhere?
If not, how about a motorcycle?
Tell us your story from a bike trip.

I ride my mountain bike (a Kona Caldera hard tale) occasionally – about once a week. Prior to getting the cancer I was doing about 200km per week on the bike (5 days a week).

In my younger days I did quite a bit of motorcycling, mostly on an XL250 Honda.

One of my more memorable cycling trips I just went for a Saturday morning ride, and decided to go up to the Mt Fyffe carpark (about 20km), and when I got there, I decided to go a little way up the mountain, then I went a bit further, and a bit further, and by 10:40am I was at the hut (a little over 3,500 ft), with a glorious view back down over the flats back to home. I hadn’t started out with the intention of riding that high, it just sorta happened. And it felt great.

About Ted Howard NZ

Seems like I might be a cancer survivor. Thinking about the systemic incentives within the world we find ourselves in, and how we might adjust them to provide an environment that supports everyone (no exceptions) with reasonable security, tools, resources and degrees of freedom, and reasonable examples of the natural environment; and that is going to demand responsibility from all of us - see www.tedhowardnz.com/money
