What should I begin to do when I want to help people reach other planets

What should I begin to do when I want to help people reach other planets?

[ 19/July/21 ]

Learn as much as you can about all aspects of science.

Think very carefully about why you want to go to other planets.

Ask yourself if building O’Neil cylinders in orbits nearer to earth isn’t a much better way to meet whatever objective it is you have that has you want to go to another planet?

Ask yourself why we are not using automated manufacturing facilities on the moon to generate solar cells on the moon and then using that solar power to launch moon mass into orbit with linear motors (no chemical rockets required)?

Consider how much more efficient such devices are at providing secure habitats for humans than planets are.

Then ask yourself if you really do want to go to other planets just yet, or if something else is really a much better way to achieve whatever it is that has you contemplating going to another planet?

Seems like I might be a cancer survivor. Thinking about the systemic incentives within the world we find ourselves in, and how we might adjust them to provide an environment that supports everyone (no exceptions) - see www.tedhowardnz.com/money
