If you had permission and enough power to choose a goal for humanity, what will it be?

[ 12/July/21 ]

Create and implement political, social and technological systems to optimize for security, freedom and empowerment generally across all sapient entities (human and non-human, biological and nonbiological).

On the security side, it means:
accepting that in the long term, security is enhanced through cooperation (all levels of agents); and
accepting that diversity and redundancy are essential strategies for security (all levels, all classes); and
accepting that indefinite life extension needs to be generally available to all who want it.

On the freedom side it means:
accepting that real freedom results in diversity, that must be accepted and respected; and
accepting that all levels of structure and complexity require boundaries for survival, and freedom needs to be responsibly exercised in ways that respect all levels and classes of boundaries present; and
accepting that it is entirely possible that there are levels of structure present that we are not yet able to conceive of.

On the empowerment side it means:
that all individuals have access to all the essentials of life, clean water, clean air, wholesome food, medical care as required, education, transport, communication; and
that all have reasonable access to such tools and toys as are reasonable to circumstance.

Goals beyond that are up to individuals and groups as they reasonably and responsibly choose.

About Ted Howard NZ

Seems like I might be a cancer survivor. Thinking about the systemic incentives within the world we find ourselves in, and how we might adjust them to provide an environment that supports everyone (no exceptions) - see www.tedhowardnz.com/money
