Global Citizen – Ending poverty

Global Citizen – How We Can Be the Generation to End Extreme Poverty

Effective transformation requires exponential technology.

It also requires a level of honesty not at all common today.

It requires questioning everything.

It requires accepting all the truths of the past are most probably merely approximations useful to their time, and doing so without losing the wisdom encoded and captured in our cultures and traditions.

It is about accepting the complexity of reality, and not trying to impose our overly simplistic models on things that cannot be simplified.

It is about creating a world where individual life and individual liberty are valued above any economic values.

It is about acknowledging all the many levels of essential distributed and network functions that markets currently perform, and developing non-market alternatives.

It is about accepting the evolutionary reality that complexity can only emerge from cooperation, and that competition destroy complexity and diversity, forcing complex systems to local minima on the complexity landscape.

It is about creating distributed rather than centralised cooperation.

And the old maxim will be eternally true – the price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

About Ted Howard NZ

Seems like I might be a cancer survivor. Thinking about the systemic incentives within the world we find ourselves in, and how we might adjust them to provide an environment that supports everyone (no exceptions) - see www.tedhowardnz.com/money
