June 20 is Summer Solstice this year, at this significant time is your intuition surfacing more lately, or not?
What can you share about your intuition and how & when it works?
Ailsa claims this day as her own (at 4’11” – the shortest day is hers).
She has gone out camping with some other members of the tramping club for the winter solstice campover. I went a couple of years ago, but was a bit busy today.
Just me and the dogs left at home.
Did find a remarkable website today, and made contact with Woody Monte – it’s creator:
While Science Sleeps
It seems very possible that the modern plague of Alzheimer’s, and most of the other “Diseases Of Civilisation” can be laid at the feet of the simple molecule methanol.
The largest modern source of it being aspartame sweeteners, but coming a close-ish second is preserved fruits and vegetables – particularly canned goods and fruit juice concentrates – it seems to be a reaction with the vegetable molecule pectin that releases the methanol.
Strangely enough, one can gain some protection from methanol by drinking ethanol, as ethanol competitively and preferentially binds to the active site of ADH1 that turns the relatively non-toxic methanol into the highly toxic formaldehyde that seems to be responsible for cross linking and forming the amyloid plaques associated with Alzheimer’s and most of the other autoimmune diseases plaguing civilised society.
All this explains a large number of otherwise inexplicable observations, like the protective power of moderate alcohol consumption (less than a glass per day).
So – an interesting day.
Looking forward to catching up with Woody in the coming weeks – he’s living just a couple of hundred miles away, in the NW of the South Island where I live.
