Moods may have an evolutionary purpose
How much do you think your mood effects how you feel about the outcome of decisions you make?

Moods have an effect.
It is as you say – moods effect how you feel about outcomes, they have no effect whatever on the actual outcomes.
So while I definitely have moods, I do my best to ignore them with respect to past events, and interrogate them with respect to future possibilities.

Worrying about things past is a complete waste of energy. Past is past. Learn lessons, and move on. Accept what is.
Arguing with reality doesn’t work – reality wins, 100% of the time.

The trick is in disentangling reality from the meaning and significance we bundle up with it.
Keep those two separate and life is much simpler.
