Posthuman Network – comment on Max Tegmark and Nick Bostrom’s talk to the UN

I think there are many existential risk from technology, and many more existential risks from not having technology.
We have the potential to be safer and better off in every respect with technology, and if that is to happen, we need to take cooperation to the next logical level, which necessitates going beyond market values, and valuing individual life and individual liberty above all else. It seems clear to me that those values, in a cooperative context, with a suitable suite of anti cheating strategies, holds great potential for all of us, and there are certainly many ways in which it can all go “belly up”.
