Peace education is a reasonable idea, but alone it wont end wars.
For so long as we base our societal value judgements on scarcity based measure, which value all instances of universal abundance at zero, we will have conflict.
We need to alter our legal and governance system.
We need to make individual life and individual liberty our highest values.
Elinor Ostrom showed us that for cooperation to succeed, cheats must be punished appropriately to their crime. It must be sufficient to remove any benefit gained, plus a little, but not too much more. Our legal systems with their fixed upper and lower bounds on punishment mean that for those at the bottom of the wealth distribution, the punishment is too harsh and unfair, and for those at the top it is insufficient and promotes systemic cheating (resulting in our current political and legal and economic systems – which are highly asymmetrically skewed to benefit the ultra wealthy).
