14 Jan’15 :Todays Q: ULTIMATUM

If you see a hungry tiger chasing a deer, will you shoot and kill the tiger to save the life of the deer (assuming you have a gun and you are a good shooter) ?

Depends completely on the circumstances.

I am an excellent shot, and could kill either animal, and in most circumstances I am unlikely to kill either.

If I was hungry enough, and needed the deer for food, I would probably kill the deer and scare the tiger away. But given that I’ve been vegan for 5 years, that scenario is unlikely.

If I lived there and the tiger was a threat to me or my community, then I would kill the tiger.

Prior to humans, most apex predators were quite selective as to prey. We are non selective predators, and can survive at the apex or anywhere down the food chain.

Once we came on the scene, the only sort of balance that is possible are the ones we create through our choices.
