Road trip

Yesterday morning left home in Kaikoura at 5am – for Picton and the ferry. Got off the Ferry at 11:45 and started driving North. Picked up two hitchhikers at the end of the Wellington Motorway and dropped them at Bulls. Had lunch at Taihape, got fuel at Waiouru, Got into Auckland at 8:15, where Will had bought me a burger. Loaded all of Jewelia’s worldly belongings into the Hilux, dropped Will at Mt Eden, and drove back down to Waitakaruru (10:30pm) and stayed the night with Rex. 15 hours of road trip – haven’t done one that big in a while – must check the odometer – about 850km I suspect.
Today is just a leisurely drive down to Wellington.
I was amazed how good I felt – no hint of micro-napping – still had full focus, and it was good to stop – don’t think I could have maintained full focus for much longer.
