God Debate

Question of the Day ~September 26, 2013~ The God Debate

I came across this and thought, we haven’t had a good God versus Atheist debate for hours.

It seems clear to me how the idea of god evolved.
When no one had any idea how complex biological systems could arise from simple chemistry, the idea that something had to exist to create it all made a sort of sense; but now we can explain how all the major sorts of processes involved work; so there is no need for god on that front.

Our information about how complex systems evolve adds another layer, in that now we know in logic that it is hugely more improbable for a fully functioning awareness to instantly appear from nothing than it is for a bunch of simple atoms to emerge from nothing. Another logical strike against the god hypothesis.

About Ted Howard NZ

Seems like I might be a cancer survivor. Thinking about the systemic incentives within the world we find ourselves in, and how we might adjust them to provide an environment that supports everyone (no exceptions) - see www.tedhowardnz.com/money
