Ignoring social standards

Question of the Day ~ May 18, 2013 Ignore Observing

Without incriminating yourself, are you discovering that as you’re getting older it’s becoming easier to ignore observing accepted modern civilised social standards and constraints and now awakening to the realisation you’d really like to try engaging in activities (use your imagination…) that, because of familial conditioning, you would have considered crazy or stupid when you were younger?

Like OM and Judi I did a lot of experimenting in my younger days, and I am experimenting in different dimensions now.
Now there are few restraints from culture left, the major remaining one is the need to communicate, and thus be able to frame what I have in a cultural paradigm (if I want it understood, in so far as it is understandable from a cultural paradigm).

I am less likely to ride a motorcycle at 150mph, and far more likely to challenge the very paradigms that define our social systems.
So in that latter sense, yes, I am far more engaged in creating justice and security and freedom for all, which must necessitate dismantling the cultural structures that most people accept as the boundaries of their current reality.

About Ted Howard NZ

Seems like I might be a cancer survivor. Thinking about the systemic incentives within the world we find ourselves in, and how we might adjust them to provide an environment that supports everyone (no exceptions) - see www.tedhowardnz.com/money
