What does Christmas mean to you?
Fun, food, family, too much food, pressies, more food, more presents, family and friends.
A day of summer heat with nothing that has to be done (other than clearing the cray pots, and preparing food, and more food, and presents, and more food, and drinks, and food and …..).
For me, it has little or nothing to do with religion. I can align with most of the outcomes that religions seek, but do so for very different reasons.
For me, belief in anything or anyone, as in non-critical acceptance, is abrogation of my responsibility as a self aware entity. For me, to give my power, my only real power, the power to choose what I believe, to anyone or anything else, is dangerously irresponsible.
So for me – it is a season of giving, family, friends and abundance; and my usual challenging of whatever seems most appropriate to challenge.
Day is drawing to a close here in NZ.
Merry Christmas everyone.
