Question of Day July 5, 2012 ~ Retirement overrated?

Is retirement over-rated?

I have very rarely done the 9-5 thing in my life – less than three years in total. Mostly I have been self employed, often doing long, and irregular hours.
Like now – I have a software business, which sometimes demands a lot of time from me, and mostly simply requires that I have a cell phone in my pocket that only requires about 3-4 hours a week. Leaving me with a lot of freedom – which I enjoy.

I would like to be able to see everyone able to enjoy retirement (as in leaving the paid workforce), and for everyone to choose to be gainfully employed wherever their particular “bliss” takes them. That is the desired outcome from

And given that I plan to live a very long time, I plan on doing a great many different things in that time.
