Lets Talk about “Paradoxes”.
the Use of Paradoxes, in Opposition,
in Trying to Balance the Opposing Concepts,
If They are Useful Mind Exercises, Then Why are They So?
Paradox to me is not about opposites, it is more about paths to transcendence.
It seems to me that our understanding of things has to start at very simple levels. We start out with the simplest of distinctions, and slowly gain more awareness of the infinity of infinities that we find ourselves in.
Much of the reality in which we find ourselves can only be understood from higher level abstractions, but to get to those higher levels we must start out by believing simple approximations. It is only when we get to a paradox, where two apparently contradictory things appear to be true, that we are forced into considering the the paradigm of understanding that we are using may be limited in some fundamental fashion, and we may need to find some new level of abstraction that explains how this apparent contradiction can be resolved.
After going through a series of such experiences, most of us get comfortable with what seems to be the fact that all of our understanding is an approximation at some level, and it is highly improbable that we will ever reach any sort of “ultimate truth” (if indeed such a thing is even theoretically possible).
Thus it seems, that all we have is the journey, the exploration of the real and the possible.
And paradox is one of the more interesting attributes of the journey.
