At 1am this morning we were awakened by a rumbling then a muffled bang and a loud swishing sound.
A particularly strong gust of wind had started the car rolling down the hill.
It went between the lime tree and the walnut tree, missed the wheelbarrow by a few inches, and backed itself into a tree.
This photo was taken in daylight, but it is the same view as we had from the deck at 1am.
I secured it to a tree, so it couldn’t go any further at about 1:15, and then between the winch and the Hilux we got it back up to the top of the hill this morning. The only damage seems to be a small ding in the back. The rear door still seems to work and to seal.
It was amazing how little damage was done, compared to what might have happened.
Tomorrow morning I am back under the surgeon’s knife at 8:30am. Heading down to stay with my sister Pauline & family this afternoon, so we can be close to the Hospital for a 7am check in.
You never know what is going to happen next!
Best wishes for a smooth procedure and good healing…Kim
