Today caught up on a couple of outstanding issues. Produced the DVD of the Trash Fashion show last month, and completed compiling a list of the phone numbers of the Kaikoura boating Club. A bit more to do with that tomorrow.

Spoke with Pie today, a very interesting healer. Trained in the USA as a doctor, of Myan decent, born and raised in New York, now teaching Eastern medicine in Christchurch though resident in Kaikoura. A very interesting lady.

I am hoping that what I have done and will do will be sufficient to deal with the cancer, and that I will not need her professional services, and meeting her was very interesting indeed.

Cooked lasagna for Ailsa, Jewelz and Will tonight. Did some juice for myself, and couple of slices of my bread.

Put up the shelf in the washhouse, and washed Jewelz’s skirt ready for start of school again next week.
Walked dogs, fed cat, and various other household chores.

A full day, an interesting day.

About Ted Howard NZ

Seems like I might be a cancer survivor. Thinking about the systemic incentives within the world we find ourselves in, and how we might adjust them to provide an environment that supports everyone (no exceptions) - see

Ted – Does Pie happen to have a website? I’d love to read more about her work. A “trash fashion show” certainly sounds interesting! Is it clothing made from trash that’s been/being recycled?

It’s almost 6am here. We’re heading out on the bike trail in just a few moments. I’ll have a great day. You have a great sleep!

    • Hi Laurie

Yes – last month was the tenth show, and I have been the official video photographer for 9 of them – yet another voluntary thing for the community.

Jewelia had an entry in this year, and got 4th in her section (Teen Art).

Ailsa has entered a couple of times, and had a clean sweep, including the grand prize with her last entry. Grand prize is worth about $2K, with each section having prizes of $100, 75, 50, 25 for 1-4. This year there were 8 sections, with about 70 entrants.

Have had up to 130 entrants – an amazing amount of work goes into many of the costumes.

We had a lazy start to our Saturday, and now have to run – a friend has her 90th birthday party soon, and Ailsa is performing.
I still have to find and print one piece of music for her – so better get onto it.

      Be great

  2. Good Morning Ted…Sounds you are well on your way to lots of healing…

Ted – How cool that you’ve been the official video photographer for so long. And cooler, still, that your gals are so good at their entries! — especially when you consider the large number of contestants!

90th birthday?! Wow, I’m impressed! Have a wonderful time at the celebration.
